Tools Needed For Processing
For processing you will need a sharp knife with a 3”-5” narrow blade (we prefer the 4” poultry & rabbit knife made by Friedrich Dick cutlery), a plastic bucket for catching the entrails, and a means of suspending the rabbit. We prefer to use a couple of lengths of parachute cord tied to small stainless steel meat hooks that are run through the hocks of the rabbit, but if cordage is all you have available you may tie nooses to slip around the hind feet of the rabbit. You will also need a tool for dispatching the rabbit. There are a number of tools and techniques but we prefer to dispatch either via blunt force with a cudgel or a shot to the head with a pellet rifle.
