Wild Eden Rabbitry, a family run operation, began by coincidence.
We once owned a black otter mini rex named Casper, and needed to rehome him during our college years (apartments are not exactly rabbit friendly!). A year later we felt our heart strings tug at the idea of being rabbit-less. We corrected that by finding two mini rex does called Pixie and Mochi. Little did we know that our ownership of them would lead us in the world of rabbit breeding and showing.
By talking about our pet rabbits, we were introduced to Patrick Cammack in 2011 (who has shown and won at national level ARBA events) who would then become our mentor in the rabbit world. Under his tutelage, he started our rabbitry off with our founding Californians, a young buck, "Bucky", and brood doe, "Queenie". Californians are known for their plentiful litters, even temperaments, and good mothering skills. We are always learning about all of the wonderful joys and purposes that rabbits can provide.
From 2019 until 2021, we had to briefly put rabbit raising on hold due to life's circumstance. We sold off a lot of our rabbits and supplies. It wasn't long though before the rabbits left a huge void in our life and we sought to rejoin the hobby again. While we no longer have Californians, they'll always hold a place in our hearts. We decided to reenter with Havanas and Belgian Hares to change things up a bit.
